Oktoberfest is a globally celebrated beer festival that originated in Munich, Germany. It typically spans several weeks from late September to early October, attracting millions of visitors from around the world. The festival is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere, lively music, traditional Bavarian cuisine, and, of course, a vast array of beer. Revelers can savor various beer styles, including the iconic German lagers and ales, in large beer tents adorned with colorful decorations. Traditional folk music, dancing, and parades featuring locals in traditional attire add to the festive spirit.

Ironically, many Oktoberfest celebrations occur in September. One of the most anticipated Oktoberfest celebrations that actually occurs in October is with The Royal Gorge Railroad tour. The Royal Gorge Route Railroad, situated in Cañon City, Colorado, is a heritage railroad that operates a 1950s-era train. These trains embark on daily 2-hour excursions, departing from the historic Santa Fe Depot and traversing the renowned Royal Gorge, following a scenic route once part of the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad. For all departures at 12:30 PM, 3:30 PM, and 6:30 PM, running from September 9th to October 21st, you have the opportunity to select your preferred class of service and enhance your journey by adding our special Oktoberfest entrée.
