Are you preparing to move to Colorado? Aside from figuring out how much moving costs, the most common problem movers run into is packing too much too early. The last thing you want to have to do is unpack a few boxes to find things you need before the move. Making a moving kit that includes all your essential items and that is easy to open and get what you need is a great way to combat this problem. Packing early for some movers is a must and by having a moving kit you can reduce the stress of moving house. Here are a few things that you should include in your moving kit.

Making Moving Easier

So, maybe you'll be moving in a few days or perhaps you've already moved but you will not have time to unpack anything for a week. That means you'll still need access to things like your laptop, phone, prescription drugs, make up, toilet paper, etc. Packing these items in an easy to use bag, like a bookbag or duffle bag, will make your life a lot easier until you get a change to fully unpack your belongings. If any of your essential items have to be separate from the rest of your moving kit, then make sure your moving boxes are labeled accordingly so that these items can be found quickly and easily.

What should be in my moving kit? Make sure to pack the basic toiletries you'll need, medications, a change of clothes, eyeglasses or contacts if you need them, ID and wallet, moving contracts, phones and tablets and their chargers, and a first aid kit with bandages and antiseptics just in case. If you have any bills or other important paperwork that you know you'll need to have access to during the move, then include these as well. This is one of the most annoying ones—you don't want to have to unpack ten boxes a week early because you can't find your account number for a bill you need to pay! Also, remember to pack tools that you’ll need to put together furniture in your moving kit. That allusive Allen Wrench will come in handy when you don't have time to unpack everything but need it to put your bed together so that you can have a good nights rest.
