November creates fall-colored outsides and cozy insides for our homes, but it's not necessarily a time for rest. This is because the holidays are coming up fast and there's a lot to prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you're a parent, the stress of getting everything done can be overwhelming. Fortunately, there are many fun activities for your young ones to celebrate in November that can take their focus elsewhere. Kids love these activities and—more importantly—will be invested in them more than you so that you can get your holiday preparations started. Here are some November activities that are perfect for children of all ages.

Family Fall Fun

Did you know that November is Child Safety and Protection Month? This is the time of the year for your children to get familiar with the fundamentals of staying safe. Part of this is teaching them how to stay safe in different situations, but there are things that your children can do on their own in this regard. Of course your home needs to be safe from disasters and accidents, your yard should be secure, and the car should be ready for safe trips. Get the kids involved by giving them one of the many safety checklists that you can find online. Let them go around the house, checking off what safety precautions are in place and what needs to be improved on. Not only will they get a better since of what it takes to be safe, they'll be having fun and giving you space to prepare for the holidays.

November isn't just about Thanksgiving and child safety, it is also Aviation History Month. Many little kids love airplanes, so there are many opportunities to keep them busy. There are tons of kid-friendly videos online that will teach your kids about American aviation and the first flight. Aside from watching videos on aviation, get their hands and minds busy with a model airplane for the older kids and paper airplanes for the younger kids. There are many paper airplane designs that you can find on kid-friendly websites. They will entertain themselves for hours having paper airplane competitions to see whose creation is the fastest or can stay in the air the longest. With all your new free time, you will be done with your holiday preparations quickly and can join them in the fun too!
