Is there anything that says Christmas more than Christmas music? Around this time of year, you hear it everywhere, from the radio to the department stores. But what about the live music and shows that you normally see during the holidays in Colorado? Despite the pandemic keeping venues from hosting their normal performances, many holiday music concerts have gone virtual. This includes Stories On Stage, which has been putting on performances for two decades.
Stories On Stage
Stories on Stage is a non-profit theater and literary organization that engages audiences with many performances in various locations throughout the year. The group boasts that "through the shared experience of live theater, we strive to inspire empathy and to break down boundaries between cultures and generations." This wonderful organization began in 2000 with a pilot performance at the Acoma Center in Denver. Though in 2010 their original founder, Norma Moore, retired, Stories On Stage has continued to open it's doors with their new artistic director, Anthony Powell.
The online event from Stories On Stage is called "Making Merry - Greatest Hits." This virtual live-stream from the stage is slated for December 13th at 1:30pm. This will mark their 20th Anniversary Holiday Celebration. Tickets will be $15 per person and participants will receive a link via email before the performance so that they can prepare to watch the show. With the many Coloradans who are struggling to get through these tough times in mind, Stories On Stage is now offering pay-what-you-can "LoDough tickets."
